4..  Application

1) Domestic pumps: 

Domestic pumps are primarily hot water circulators(central heating pumps) used in residential and office buildingspumping hot water from a central boiler system to radiators. Thepump designs usually incorporate an alumina bearing with a carbonthrust bearing. Domestic appliances such as dishwashers and washingmachines often incorporate pump designs using alumina/carbon basedseals 

2) Industrial pumps: 
Industrial pumps are used in pumping water from deep wells. Thesepumps often use alumina thrust bearings with a lapped or polishedworking face, which are ideal for this application as they matewith the carbon thrust pad 

3) Submersible pond pumps for garden water features andaquariums: 
These typically use two alumina bearings housed in the impellor andmagnetic rotor assembly, running on a stationary Alumina shaft. Thebearings are usually of wider tolerances than for circulating pumpsas the load and noise requirements are lessdemanding 

4) Automotive water pumps: 
Automotive water pumps often use an Alumina ceramic/carbon sealassembly because of the Alumina''s high wear and corrosionresistance to anti-freeze solution
